ORGANISATION:
20x20yrd grid. Each player starts with one pinnie tucked into the back of their shorts and hanging out (i.e. like a tail). This drill can also be done as a team game (5vs5, etc).
INSTRUCTIONS:
Players play as two teams and attempt to capture as many pinnies they can from other players. Start with both team having one pinnie each in each players shoirts. Once they capture another players pinnie they place that pinnie in their shorts also (in the rear). The players are free to have these pinnies stolen also after they capture them.
SCORING:
Team with the most pinnies in their shorts after the set period is the winner.
KEY COACHING POINTS:
Quickness and Agility.
Teamwork and communication. The dragon parts (players) have to work together to protect the tail and also advance in the correct direction to attack other dragons.
Emphasize good team work and support.
PROGRESSIONS:
None.
VARIATIONS:
This drill can also be done as a team game (5vs5, etc).
Players play individually.
Once your pinnie (tail) is pulled out you sit out of the game. Last player in is the winner.
NOTES AND OBSERVATIONS:
Be sure to monitor that all players have the pinnies on display and hanging out at all times so they are available to be stolen.
