  • Age: 10-Adult
  • No Players: 6+
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Area/Time: 20x20yrds (5-10mins)

ORGANISATION:
20x20yrd grid. One player starts as the defender (chaser) with the other players spread out around the inside of the grid.
INSTRUCTIONS:

One player starts as the defender (chaser). All the other players roam free inside the grid attempting to avoid that player. If a player is tagged by the defender, you then join the defender. Meaing you hold hands with the defender and continue to tag more players. The diagram displays 3 players holding hands as the orogonal player has tagged 2 players. The players hold on to each other throughout the drill.

  • In the above diagram player A1 has already captured (tagged) A2 and A3 who have joined the chain. Player B attempts to avoid being tagged.

 

SCORING:
The last player not to be part of the defending chain is the winner.
KEY COACHING POINTS:
  1. Quickness and Agility.
  2. Teamwork and communication. The dragon parts (players) have to work together to protect the tail and also advance in the correct direction to attack other dragons.
  3. Emphasize good team work and support.
PROGRESSIONS:
  1. None.
VARIATIONS:
  1. Start with 2 pairs of players, each connected by a pinnie that they are both holding between them. Those 2 pairs attempt to tag all the single players. The last player remaining is the winner.
