ORGANISATION:
44x30yrd field. 2 teams of 4-8, but this can be varied again to match the ability and age of the players. Teams must be equal in numbers. 2 goals (3/4 or full size). Goal keepers are in the goals.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Teams play normal soccer with one major condition. No player is allowed to run, i.e. all players must walk. A player must have one foot in contact with the ground at all times. A violation of this rule results in a direct free kick to the other team.
In the above diagram player A1 passes the ball to A2 at walking speed only. The ball can travel as fast as it likes.
A2 slots a through ball into A3.
A3 walks onto the pass and shoots on goal.
SCORING:
First team to 3 goals. Or regular 10 minute game.
KEY COACHING POINTS:
Principles of possession should be applied to ensure the team is able to keep posession.
Emphasize good team work and support.
PROGRESSIONS:
None.
VARIATIONS:
Jogging only.
Play with weaker foot only.
Play in pairs. All players must be connected to touch the ball. I.e. Holding hands or both holding a pinnie which connects them.
