Set Up
- Arrange 24 x 16yrd playing grids. Arrange with a 2 x CB (4)(5), two full backs (2) & (3), a low or holding midfield player (6). And two high midfielders (8) & (10).
- Footballs are fed by the coach (or feeder) on the sideline.
- Defenders rotate in on timed 2 min work intervals or after recovering the football and transitioning to the sides of the playing area (replacing the midfield 3 that lost possession).
- Progression (Diagram 2) - One Midfielder (8) or (10) can drop into playing area to provide additional support in the central playing area.
Scoring
- 10 consecutive passes make by the attacking unit. Or as set by the coach.
- Attract pressure to create space.
- Body positioning to receive (In an open position).
- Triangulation to create various supporting passing lines.
- Play around the defending block.
- Passing lines (i.e. 1st, 2nd, 3rd line passing options).
- Up, back and through passing patterns.
- Penetrating passes directly into the midfield.
- Tempo and rhythm control.
- Overloads with support in front, the sides & behind.
- Patience in possession searching for penetration.
- High midfielder (8 or 10) allowed to drop into area.
- Specific players are allowed only limited touches.
